Da Momma: Seasons change and so do I.

Da Momma: Seasons change and so do I.:      Frost on the grass and in the air as I breathe. Farewell to warmth and singing birds as I open my arms to the sun's longer rays...
A new look. Hope you like it.

Seasons change and so do I.

Frost on the grass and in the air as I breathe. Farewell to warmth and singing birds as I open my arms to the sun's longer rays, denuded trees, and shaggy horse coats. Now is the time I look forward to morning fires in the woodstove, coming back in from feeding and cleaning in a cold barn, hot coffee, and the smell of cinnamon toast and frying bacon in the kitchen.
Then there's the holidays. Preparation, meals, and the gleeful delight of family returning to the homestead. Skiing, sledding, riding in the snow, the greyhounds fetching snowballs. Shoveling the walkway and coming in to watch more snow pile up right where you worked.
What is most magical is the quiet and how the landscape during a heavy snow loses all color; a dozen shades of gray and no sound except for the wind. A beauty all its own in a monochrome kind of way.
Looking forward to it all, because change is good. That and by the time February arrives, it's time to look forward to spring again.

Why do we not allow ourselves moments of tranquility once in a while? With the holidays at our doorstep, and with all the contention in society around us, I propose this: Get a relaxing CD. Find a quiet corner. Shut off all forms of outside communication and noise. Eat something with cheese attached, pour yourself a glass.
Sit back and relish that fact that your house is probably not going to be hit by an incoming mortar. You will more than likely be eating some form of food tomorrow. The police will most likely not snatch you from your bed in the middle of the night for questioning. Your lovely daughters can be taught to read and write, and you can actually see their faces out in public. You're not cold. The grocery store has groceries. You are able to travel when you want, at least locally, and no one asks for your papers.
Oh, the petty dilemmas of First World problems.
While you relax and indulge in your moment of quiet, take that moment and thank Almighty God for the blessings that you possess. And to all, a good life.

May the judgment come!

We have a debauched government made up of cowards, perverts, cynics, crooks, and misogynists who are replete with incompetence, malice, hubris and greed. It all starts at the top with this president (who embodies all the above attributes) and descends to ALL who call themselves politicians, department heads, cabinet personnel, and czars. Villains, thieves and scoundrels all. A pox on their houses and may a merciless judgment visit upon them all.

A Letter to My Senator

A letter to Senator Kirsten Gillibrand:
I am an African-American woman, married and the mother of four. I am contacting you because I know contacting Sen. Schumer is to speak on deaf ears. As a woman, I insist that you abstain from voting to amend any part of the Second Amendment in the name of "public safety". Doing so just to stand in lock step with your party causes me, as a women, wife and mother to be exposed to harm from criminals. Why are you doing this? Why do you not cry out when scores of inner city black children are killed by violence due to illegally obtained handguns that are in the hands of criminals? When little white children are murdered, now you feel that you need to vote to infringe on a constitutional right that I have to protect my children. It's cruel. It's wrong and will do NOTHING to stop criminals who don't care what laws you pass. I cannot help but believe that it's not about crime but about regulating those of us who obey laws because you in power believe that we are easier to control: Criminals are not as easy for you do deal with and your support of any measure that dilutes my right to defend myself and my family proves that. I urge you to leave the Second Amendment alone and enforce the laws already there to stop criminals!

New York in my rearveiw mirror.

Soon and very soon, New York will be but a bittersweet memory in the lives of the Ellanson family.
Why? Sad, but in a opinionated nutshell, it is due to the progress of the state government in its march towards totalitarianism.

New York, like other state government fellow travelers (Northeast and west coast), will not cease until its governments establish utter control over its citizenry in ways that will spell disaster for individual freedom and self determination. I, for one, refuse to comply with this inevitability.

Rather than dwell in anger (notice I did not say fear), I and my family will simply leave and make our way to lands with less intrusive state sovereignties.  And as we eventually bid adieu to the Empire State (the motto says it all), I urge my compatriots who are of like mind to do the same, before a fateful question/prediction of mine comes to pass: I wonder if the United States will remain as such?

Prepare people.

Just one note for today.  Be vigilant and never take the present for granted.  The world is becoming an ever perilous place; more perilous for those who wish to indulge in the frivolous.

We free people tend to see life and events from the framework of our own lifetime.  There are others who look to the long term, like the progressives and the communists.  They see present events as stepping stones to an ultimate goal.  They count on the rest of us to get caught up in the mundane, the comfortable, the myopic.  Good food, good times, good company and a good life.

My prediction is this:  What is now in the west, especially in America, is finite. It can improve it if we make it so, or if we do nothing and it will go they way of all great civilizations.  It will fall.  Righteous people must speak up against tyranny and the over reaching control of  central government, lest we wake up one morning and find that we are not allowed to speak up.

Just a thought, my people.  I will keep thinking (and speaking), no matter what.  I hope you do the same.

Stand for Something or Fall for Anything

I had a friend recently defend Michael Bloomberg, citing that he is a good guy who is only trying to keep NYC safe.  I would advise that he (and all who do not know the truth) read the following article.

http://www.irishexaminerusa.com/mt/2012/06/05/bloomberg_vs_giuliani_no_conte.html

From there, I rest my case on Mayor Bloomberg.

However, to the other issue, that issue being one involving my "tantrums" in my defense of the Second Amendment.  I would say this:  You men who advocate gun control; let us see how you perceive your stand on guns in a situation where your wife, your sister, your mother or your daughter were about to be raped by a man who, in every case, is larger, stronger and determined to commit the crime.  Give me a scenario whereby you would see fit to disarm her if she was trained and if she had the option of using a gun to defend herself.

Without a firearm as an equalizer against a rapist, you do have two options: Lay down, shut up and take it, in the hopes that he lets you live afterwards.  Or you can blow a rape whistle, urinate on yourself then lay down, shut up and take it, in the hopes that he lets you live afterwards.

Clearly you good men need to understand that evil men don't care about pleading, submission and "cooperation" in rape.  A rapist cares about power, anger, and sadistic humiliation of his victims.  Think again whether or not you would allow such a crime to proceed unchallenged.  Can you always be there to protect her?  No.  But you can educate her, train her, and arm her so that she has the right to defend herself against evil should it threaten.

Could you love her any less?

A comment to Mayor Bloomberg and Jim Carey

The pathetic delusion that the cowardly self-righteous possess is beyond mind-boggling.  Take Jim Carey, an insecure, irrelevant, needy and somewhat mentally unsound "actor".  Add to him his fellow-traveler, Mayor Bloomberg of NYC, a neo-fascist Bourgeois megalomaniac with delusions of grandeur.

Neither has the fortitude to take on real problems.  Both have the need to feel good about themselves since both are imbued with pathological insecurity.  So what do they do?  They make a point to go after the 'gun nuts': Those legal gun owners whose right to have a firearm causes both "men" to seethe with envy.  In other words, how dare these little people have the right to self-determination, personal responsibility and individual freedom.

Jim Carey's sickness is partially understandable given that he is an insipid Canadian liberal with all the depth of a cat's saucer of cream. Instead of debating an issue that he advocates, he stoops to calling people who disagree with him, "motherf...kers."  I wonder; did he ever f...k his mother and/or does he kiss his children with that mouth.  But that is what is to be expected from low IQ and a limited vocabulary; please do not be surprised.

Now the hubris of Bloomberg, on the other hand, is one where wealth, anger, and insecurity go hand in hand to spawn a rare conceit in an otherwise little man.  I believe it has to do with the fact that Michael Bloomberg is quite literally, a little man.  It's all about compensation.  You see, real men carry their own damn guns and don't need a bodyguard.

Thus to conclude, I will offer advice to both in the hopes that they will attain greater happiness and develop some self-worth:

Jim Carey:  Learn proper English and fearlessly stand up to criticize gang bangers and gangstas who perpetuate real gun violence on a daily basis.  And try not to emulate and glorify them on screen.
Michael Bloomberg:  Get a life, mind your own damn business, and visit to the Bahamas more often.  PLEASE!

To both:  For God's sake you two, grow a pair, and then target real criminals if you need to feel good about yourself!

What (or who) is the government?

A fair question.  With recent events like health care, gun control, and an ever-deepening encroach on personal freedoms, just who is this omnipotent 'government' that seeks to usurp the precious liberty of the American people?

The better question is who is this omnipotent government that seeks to usurp the precious liberty of the American people?  That is the more accurate question.  We tend to see monolithic bodies like religions, corporations, universities and other structured institutions as faceless entities that wield power with force.  The government is no exception.

But what is a government?  In our case, it is an elected or an appointed body of people put in place by other people.  That's right:  People.  People who are imbued with ego, ambition, hubris and often megalomania.  They love power.  They want control.  They enjoy the self-importance.  They also tend to be self-conscious, insecure and paranoid.  Look to any career politician, for example, and see whether or not my theory holds true.

Weaving a tangle of stipulations, regulations, laws and statutes, they maintain their hold over an ignorant populace.  Worse, they endeavor to maintain that ignorance by control of information, restrictions on movement, retracting individual freedom of choice, etc., all in the name of security and greater good.

Beware and be informed.  We are a people about to be ruled by other people.  We are a batting eyelash away from a narrow, elitist segment of our population who seek to lord over us all by fiat and by decree.  And the penalty for protest is the further eroding of our freedoms.

Time to stand up and start speaking out people.  Rally, write, gather, protest and question the authority of those who strive to keep you under a boot of a tyranny that is disguised as entitlements and benevolence.  Treat yourself better and believe that you have the right of self-determination, and that you are gifted enough to fend for yourself without intrusion from some citizen in power who would rather treat you as a peasant.

So what's up? I'll tell you.

In recent weeks, my Main Man and Number One Squeeze (Hereafter known as MMNOS) have been increasingly disgruntled with living in the Peoples Republic of New York, headed by Commissar Cuomo.

Inalienable rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness is on its way out here.  One might think that it is because we oppose this so-called SAFE Act,  the state's new attack on legal gun rights.  The real issue that must be considered is that the Second Amendment guarantees all other US Constitutional Amendments.

Your pithy thoughts, my people.

Been sick

Sorry for not being in touch for a while.  I'm still trying to overcome this superbug; coughing, fever, the works!  Lots to cover, though.  I'll be able to update everyone with news of gun owner rights, interracial novel updates, travel and personal reflections.  Stay tuned.
